Alcohol IBA:
Thank you for your interest in Alcohol Identification and Brief Advice (IBA) Training! This in-person half-day session is full of hands-on learning, interactive activities, and practical insights.
During the session, you’ll explore:
- The risks and dangers of alcohol use
- What alcohol units are and how to calculate them
- How to use the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and have supportive conversations about the results
- How to provide safe harm reduction advice and signpost people to specialist services
But this training isn't all theory. You’ll get to:
- Step into someone else’s shoes with beer goggles and experience the effects of alcohol
- Join in with interactive challenges testing your knowledge of standard drink serving sizes
- Practice giving advice with confidence
- Take part in quizzes and friendly competitions
By the end of the training, you’ll walk away with practical skills, a solid understanding of alcohol-related risks, and confidence in supporting others—all while having a fun, engaging experience that sticks with you.
