Course Aim:
To develop an increased awareness around HIV and Hepatitis C
Outcomes:
Identify what blood-borne viruses are
State legal duties of employers and employees (to include COSHH and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974)
Discuss actions to be taken after possible infection with a blood-borne virus
Carry out effective infection control practices
Explain the incident reporting process (to include Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) 2013)
Explore discrimination in relation to blood-borne viruses (Equality Act 2010)
