Blood-borne virus Awareness (HIV & Hepatitis C specific)

Course Aim:

To develop an increased awareness around HIV and Hepatitis C
Outcomes:

 Identify what blood-borne viruses are
 State legal duties of employers and employees (to include COSHH and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974)
 Discuss actions to be taken after possible infection with a blood-borne virus
 Carry out effective infection control practices
 Explain the incident reporting process (to include Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) 2013)
 Explore discrimination in relation to blood-borne viruses (Equality Act 2010)
